In the US there are stores like Tiffany's or in France there is Cartier. What about Asian, specifically China / Hong Kong?

Not sure if they are in HK but Niwaka is a comparable brand name in Japan.

Hi! I recieved a girft from my boyfriend. He recently came back from India (he was visiting his family) and he bought me this gorgeous necklace. It is from The FACET Shop. I looked it up on the internet and it said it was a high end Indian jewelry store. I hate that he probably spent to much money on me...

Does anybody know about this place called The Facet Shop?

Is the stuff there very expensive?

Also, is gold very expensive in India?

He bought my mother a gift too and we brought it to a jeweler to get different studs on the earrings (she couldn't get them on, the studs were too big) and the jeweler was scared to work with them because they were 24 carat gold. :-O

I feel incredibely guilty because he doesn't have much money and I want to do something really nice for him too... I was just curious! Thanks!

I think your talking about the Facet Shop in Mumbai,which sells branded jewellery called "Gili" - http://www.gili.com . Their price range is wide - affordable to very expensive stuff.

Gold prices are pretty high here in India in recent times,like most other parts of the world (except for the middle east).

Gold prices change everyday, but It is around the price range given below

22 ct gold (1 gram) - 19.73 USD
24 ct gold (10g) - Rs 213.077 USD

If you know the weight of the jewellery then you can make a rough calculation of its value based on the current gold prices.
If you really want to know the price of the jewellery then check if the jewellery has a design number/code.Sometimes its engraved on the jewellery on the back side or you can find it in the warranty/leaflet that come with some stuff.If your can find the code/number then you can contact the shop to find out the price.

Are you sure that your mother's earrings are 24 carat gold? I am asking this because gold used in jewellery is usually 22 carat or lower. 24 carat is the purest form of Gold (99%).
