Luxury and Jewelry

Ive been to a few of the jewelers, and around the web, and I noticed that the exact same rings are on ebay for hundreds less than in the jewelry store. Literally the exact same, on ebay for like 20$ at fred mayer for 500$ or so. Is there something wrong with the rings? Are they cheap titanium or tungsten or whatever? Does anyone know of a cool online jeweler with nondescript manly rings? I would really enjoy the savings on my honeymoon if at all possible.

If it is the same ring then why not go for it, and for $20 if you don't like it you can afford to look elsewhere.

Somethings to keep in mind- titanium and tungsten can not be resized so make sure you go to a jewelry store to be sized- they will be happy to do that (they should also be happy to clean and or fix your ring no matter where it is from, this is sort of jewelry code).

Also, when you are sized make sure that they have you use sizers that are the same width as the band you are looking at as it will affect the size.

Gold and platinum are required by law to have info engraved on the piece. ex: it has to say 10k or 14k or 928 for platinum. So you can use this info to gage if it is real or not.

One last thing regarding tungsten- it is relatively new in the jewelry mens ring world however you can not cut it off if your finger grows and you need to have it removed. It has to have presser applied to it at certain areas in order to shatter it.

Just curious if you would consider wearing, or purchasing, a TIMOKU black titanium wedding band. It is not a traditional ring for a mens wedding band - like a white or yellow gold band. But are you really looking for traditional or ordinary? Trying to get a feel for how many people are willing to break free from the traditional wedding bands.

If it's your thing than go for it. I am an advocate for both breaking away from tradition and/or incorporating a little tradition to contemporary looks. I personally do not like the ring because it does not compliment my style and taste. However, for those who do find it appealing and want to use these bands as oppose to the more traditional ones, I say do it. Your wedding day is YOURS. It is not like back in the old days where weddings were all standard and the same. Now there are literally hundreds of things you can do or do not have to do.

What are the pros/cons between 10 kt gold and Titanium.
I'm familiar w/the characteristics of 10kt as I used to work in a jewelry store...but we didn't deal w/titanium and I'm not very familiar w/it.
any advice or opinions???

If your hubby does any work with his hands, construction, etc...anything that would scratch, tarnish, potentially break the ring...go titanium. Its stronger and holds the finish better. I'm a fan of titanium for a few reasons...sometimes its cheaper which is great. My husband got a "brushed metal" look on his white gold ring and it turned shiny (weird, but not what we wanted) after less than a year...titanium doesn't do that, or at least not so easily. Finally, my husband says that he feels more "manly" wearing titanium...its like gold is for women, big strong metals like steel and titanium are for men. Its silly, but he loves using that excuse lol Good luck!

are mens and womens ring sizing the same? I am looking to buy my fiance a wedding band online, and short of going to a jewelry store to size him (which I know they will then bug us relentlessly to purchase something), how can I tell what size ring he needs?

take them to get sized or take one of his rings and get it perfect to that
