I wear silver and some gold gemstone rings, I am wondering what is the best way to clean and polish them with out ruining or possiblely destroying the gems?

It is dependant upon the gemstone as some are more vulnerable than other. I you decide upon buying an ultrasonic cleaner make sure you are careful on what items you use it on, as it can damage some and even destroy some types of gemstone (detailed in the articles above).

Answering this question correctly would depend on your telling what type of Gemstones you have in your jewelry.

There is no correct answer for all types of Gemstones.

General advice, you already got, but be careful, with Opals, Turquoise, and such!

^White toothpaste, just apply, rub a little and wipe with a clean soft cloth.

I have several cleaners for gold and silver but, for example, my husband's wedding ring has several scratches. Is there any way to remove them at home with household stuff? I don't want to take it to a jeweler (we're kind of remote) and I don't have any jeweler's rouge or a buffing wheel... Thanks! :D

There's nothing you can purchase over the counter to fix the scratches.

Unfortunately, the best solution is to send it to a jeweler. It's the only way to fix it without potentially harming the metal.

My necklace chains always get so tarnished and I don't know how to bring back their shine. I'm mostly looking for home remedies here, since I don't have cash for things like kits

toothbrush but dont brush too hard otherwise the colur will go
