What supplies/tools will I need to make a simple glass bead necklace and bracelet?
Transport to India by cherryblossom27 on Etsy

I am interested in making my own glass bead jewelry, but I have no idea where to start or what to do. I've checked a couple websites but they use terms I don't understand or the directions are too confusing. What would be a good glass bead project for me to start off on, and what basic supplies and tools do I need to buy to start this hobby?

Thanks!

when I wanted to start a few months ago I went to the craft store and bought a cheap beginner kit. It has what you need to make just practice pieces, once you get familiar then you can start spending the money on the glass beads that are available. I personally switched to crystal once I got the hang of it. Super easy and fun to do. I believe the beginner kit will also come with your basic tools. Good Luck

I want to start my own business by selling beaded jewelry that i make. How would I do this?
Africa Unite by DiasporaDesigns on Etsy

I just turned 13 years old. I heard that my cousin who is one month younger than me opened up her own business by giving manicures/pedicures/and massages to family/friends and charging them money. I want to do the same thing, but I want to sell beaded bracelets that I make to friends, family, and people who just like beaded stuff. Are there any good websites that will teach me how to make my own little business? For free.
I appreciate all the good answers but I also need any good, free websites that can teach me or give me ideas on how to make my jewelry. I already have all the supplies: beads, wiring, ect. I can always buy a book, but I'd prefer the internet.

Ask your cousin what she did to start hers.

One thought comes to mind, tho - When someone buys a manicure they need one again in a week or so. But when someone buys a bracelet, they have a bracelet, and may not need to buy another. So your cousin has a business that generates repeat customers, which is a great plan.

Similar types of 'jobs' would be walking dogs, babysitting, etc., stuff that needs to be done over and over again, so you don't have to keep finding new customers.

That being said, if you love making jewelry, and want to see how it goes, you can figure out what to charge for the pieces by taking into consideration the cost of the supplies (beads, wire, findings, etc.) and adding something for your time making it. However, I would not recommend making too much of a financial investment until you see how well it goes.

good luck!

Tying knots in elastic jewelry cord?
Death on the Nile by WrathofRa on Etsy

I am trying to make a beaded bracelet using elastic jewelry cord and normal knots just slip right out, even when double- or triple-knotted. What kind of knot can I tie or how can I make the knots stay?

The best way I've found to make them stay is to hot-glue the knot. You can also kind of melt them with a lighter; but the hot-glue trick really works best. :)

How popular is handmade jewelry?
Bring out your inner Goddess! by glassetc on Etsy

I make beaded jewelry (earrings and bracelets mostly) and accessories like cell phone charms. I'm thinking about selling them online, and was wondering if it's worth doing. Does anyone have experience selling their handmade jewelry and have any advice? I'll be setting up a shop on Etsy.com if you're familiar with it. Thanks for your input!

Etsy.com seems like a great place to check on. Try local craft shows and festivals in your area. Make some of your items for gifts and others will ask about where that nice bracelet came from. I sent some pieces to the school for the Santa's Workshop and got some calls from my little tag attached. I sent my sister two sets of things I had made and her office group went bonkers! Be patient, it doesn't happen over night but it can grow!

Where can I find a website with friendship bracelet patterns?
The Spiral Dance by MysticHillsNgaroma on Etsy

I have a jewelry company, and it consists of mostly bead jewelry, but I think adding some friendship bracelets made out of embroidery thread might be nice. Can someone help me with looking for a website that has patterns of different types of friendship bracelets?

Thanks!

I have 3 faves, the first two Kay already gave you and here is the third:
