i won a raffle today at a cancer fundraiser called the Lukefest. the prize that i won was a really nice jewelry set. it contains an:
-18k gold plated bracelet with 13 green emeralds with quartz inbetween them. -(necklace)14 green emeralds put together into the outline of a heart with a sterling silver chain. - a gold ring with a heart shaped emerald in the middle and 6 quartz stones -a gold necklace with 3 dangling emerald hearts on top of one another.
**i dont know if theyre real or not because the boxes had a website on them, and the website seems very odd. the website is www.yoneed.com and all of the prices are written in lira's. i tried finding a website with the conversion from lira's to dollars. after all that, it seems that the prices come out to around $10 each. therefore, i doubt them --if u know how to figure out if these are real please help me! (everything looks real except for the ring?) also, help with the site or currency conversions would be great! thank you!!

you don't have to take it to a jeweler, because in some countries, gold is very cheap and so maybe in the country that uses liras, gems and gold are a common thing, so it does not cost that much. it is vary possible, because in india, you can get a lot of 24 karat gold for 1000 rupees and when you convert rupees into dollars, 1000 rupees= about $25.

I just turned 13 years old. I heard that my cousin who is one month younger than me opened up her own business by giving manicures/pedicures/and massages to family/friends and charging them money. I want to do the same thing, but I want to sell beaded bracelets that I make to friends, family, and people who just like beaded stuff. Are there any good websites that will teach me how to make my own little business? For free.
I appreciate all the good answers but I also need any good, free websites that can teach me or give me ideas on how to make my jewelry. I already have all the supplies: beads, wiring, ect. I can always buy a book, but I'd prefer the internet.

Ask your cousin what she did to start hers.

One thought comes to mind, tho - When someone buys a manicure they need one again in a week or so. But when someone buys a bracelet, they have a bracelet, and may not need to buy another. So your cousin has a business that generates repeat customers, which is a great plan.

Similar types of 'jobs' would be walking dogs, babysitting, etc., stuff that needs to be done over and over again, so you don't have to keep finding new customers.

That being said, if you love making jewelry, and want to see how it goes, you can figure out what to charge for the pieces by taking into consideration the cost of the supplies (beads, wire, findings, etc.) and adding something for your time making it. However, I would not recommend making too much of a financial investment until you see how well it goes.

I have been looking for hours for my little sister a cute watch or bracelet. She is cute and trendy and she love pink and brown. She is 13 years old. I wanted to get her one of those floating crystal watches, but I can't find them anywhere. Help please.

I would try Overstock.com or eBay.com they both have just about everything. If you don't want to shop online Claires, Rue 21 or Limited 2 usually have some cute accessories.

I've posted this before, but I'm hoping to get more suggestions

I'm 26, and I'm marrying a 43 yr. old man with two daughters. The girls have been part of my life for the past two years now...they are with us every other weekend.

We are including them in the ceremony, they will be part of our "Unity Sand ceremony" (instead of a unity candle), and at some point during the wedding, I'm going to give them each a piece of jewelry (The 13 yr old is getting a necklace, the 11 yr old is getting a charm with a charm bracelet).

As part of giving the jewelry to the girls, I intend on explaining why we picked those pieces of jewelry. I also want to give some sort of vows/promises to the kids..but I have no idea what to say.

I want to recognize the fact that I'm not just marrying their Dad...I'm becoming part of their family. They will be the only children I'll ever have.

I need suggestions on vows...ideas on what to say...or tell me if you have done this in your own wedding..
Please, if you answered this question before, do not answer it again.

Before anyone asks, my fiance and I are not going to have children, so yes, I'm sure these will be the only children in my life, and that is the way I want it.

Details on the jewelry: We chose the jewelry by having each girl pick 5 pieces of jewelry out of a big jewelry book....all of the pieces were "beach" or "sea life" themed, like our beach wedding.

From those 5 choices for each of them, we picked one piece that fits the individual child.

One of the 5 chosen by the eldest daughter is a gold pendant with 4 swimming dolphins...she said it represented the 4 of us. The youngest daughter had a colorful sea turtle as one of her choices...and she is a very colorful personality (she is the one who keeps us laughing at every dinner table conversation), so we picked that one for her.

Vow to not try and replace their mother but to love them just as much as she does. To look after their best interests and always be fair and just. Vow to be at important events--what are they wanting to do with life?

Vow to be there for prom, high school graduation, and lifes great highs but also to be there for the low points of first love's heartbreak, and the rejection letters from college. To celebrate with exuberant joy and to comfort and cry sympathy tears.

If one wants to be a doctor, vow you will support her career and be there when it is difficult. To be there are her graduation from medical school.

Vow to be honest and always give them the best advice possible. To put their needs ahead of your own. To be the best mother you can possibly be and to make sure that not a day goes by that you don't express how much you love them. To support them and teach them the ways of the world (responsibility, compassion, morals) so that they can be the best adult possible.

I love the idea of individual jewelry and explaining why you picked that piece. Perhaps that ties into them as a person and explaining that you love that characteristic about them.
