I have so many diamond rings that bear bad memories I am trying to get rid of.

To be honest, it won't be worth a lot. Pawn Brokers and Jewllers usually give the minimal amount to the seller.

Your best bet is to sell it privately or auction it on e-bay. That way you should get somewhere near to the price you want.

What are your thoughts on the place, service and quality?

I personally think they are great, especially since they will let you bring them old gold from pieces you don't and never will wear anymore and use it to offset the cost of the settings.

Buying a diamond is just like any other purchase. Do your homework. It's ignorant to walk into a store totally relying on the salespeople who have a vested interest in your purchase to teach you everything. You wouldn't walk into a car dealership and say "I want a car..four wheels please?"....no usually you have done some research and know what model, at the very least what manufacture.

IMO, a 3 carat is not a good size. Anything above 2 carats is too "look at me!" and just gets in the way. They are more likely to snag on something or get knocked around. I would much rather purchase a smaller flawless diamond than go halfway and get the bigger rock...but that is all personal decision and why you need to intimately aqquaint yourself with cut, clarity, color, and carat.

Can anyone tell me if those are real diamonds or fake? Do not consider the price, I bought a 3 carat diamond white-gold ring for $400 and it was real. Cannot tell about that one though, please advise.

I have a diamond ring and a diamond necklace that I want to sell (to a person, not a pawn shop or jewelry store) but I don't know what a reasonable asking price is. The ring is 14K white gold, 3 stone, not sure what the diamond carat is. The necklace is 10K white gold, heart shaped (very pretty) and also I'm not sure what the diamond carat is. (I can't see that little print.) I don't know what the original price paid for them was, but I do know that when I took them to a jewelry shop to see how much I could get for them, he only offered me $40 and told me I'd be better off selling them to a friend because they would just melt them down to make new jewelry. So what do you think would be a fair asking price and/or where can I find more info about this? Also, the ring is in fair to good condition, and the necklace is in excellent condition.
I know they are not worth a lot. Probably purchased for $100 - $300 each when new. Would asking $100 each be too much? Anyone have an idea what I should ask? Do I have to pay to get them appraised?
