My best friend (since gradeschool and through our adult life) had a garage sale this weekend. I kind of dropped in as a surprise to say hi and I noticed the sterling silver bracelet I bought her as a maid of honor gift was for sale along with all her other junk jewelry she was selling. You know, like the 50 cents pile.

I picked it up, told her she should polish this so it looks better and she commented that she forgot her silver polishing cloth.

I put it back down and didn’t say a word.

I know she had her old bridesmaid dress for sale – but that is not a big deal AT ALL. I totally expect people to get rid of those since they can’t ever be used or worn again, plus they purchased it themselves. But have to admit, I was a little hurt to see that bracelet in the sale pile. I mean, it doesn’t take up much space and I always hang on to those for sentimental reasons, even if I will never wear them. Just really took me aback and I haven’t said anything to her about it.

Am I wrong to feel hurt about this? Should I say something? I don't know if it actually sold or not.

you have the right to feel that way.. but from an outsider looking in here's my take.. the bracelet is purely a material possession, it in no way can signify what she feels about your friendship.. don't be hurt or offended just let it go.. don't let material things define a relationship, given on a special occasion or not..

he have it everything: cloths, watch, eletronics.... and he's like giving me jewelry, eletronics, cloths, lotions... parfum...
and im like "i saw this nice shirt he prolly gonna like it...." but im not sure.

Any ideaS???? i was thinkin about taking him out for dinner as long i live in the DR and hes american.... PLUS we are getting engaged 3 days after valentine's day .... =) pls help!

Basically what I'm doing is that I'm giving him a memory box with some stuff I put together for him. I also made him a really nice card with a heartfelt poem that I wrote. I made him a poem book with pictures I have taken as well. : } I'm doing all this stuff because Valentine's is our first anniversary. ♥

Get her a locket with your picture in it. If you don't want to do that, any kind of beautiful necklace. If you're on a budget, try bidz.com. it's great. But don't be her gift - she'll think you either forgot her gift and made this up last minute, or are just simply really cheap.

Has some one ever bought you some thing you did not like at all?
Such as cloths, jewelry, a car, a pet, food or what ever.
If so, How did you get rid of it? Or did you just keep it and pretend to like it?

When I was in college, my mom and dad got me a car. I told them, "Don't even think about getting me a stick shift! I hate them and can't drive them."
They did get me a stick shift and I burned up the clutch. They tried to say it was my fault, but I said, "No, it is your fault, cause I told you not to get me a stick shift, since I can't drive them any way."
Then I told them if they get me another stick shift next time, I will "Drive the god damn thing into a river, take it back to the dealer, slam it into a tree, leave it on the side of a back road, put it on the side of the yard w/ a for sale sign or blow the transmission on purpose, even if I have to use a stick of dynamite, or what ever. But I won't drive the damn thing!" They took the hint an automatic next time!
Also, when I was a young kid, my mom got me an ugly jacket. I could not stand it!
She said she would take it back. But she left it laying around the house for a few days and my dad found it and made me wear the damn thing.
I only had the jacket for about 9 months. I complained about it so much, they just gave it to my brother, who said he liked it. He probably did not.
Any way, if it happened today, I am old enough to drive, and there is a thing called E-Bay! If you see where I am going with that!
I could go drop it in a river, go play football with some friends and let them tackle me so many times that the jacket gets ripped very badly and so many times and so muddy, that I just can't wear it any more, soak it in gas and burn it, slash it up with a knife, go to the zoo and throw it into the lion's den, give it to a bum, or just wear it once and put it in the very back of my closet and forget about it and never wear it again. You get the idea, it would be disposed of some how!
BTW, I had to pay them back for the car! It is just that I told them I would not pay them back at all if they got me a stick shift!

Why would your parents purchase you a car without your input ? They sound like control freaks. You on the other hand sound ungrateful. You're not entitled to being given a car. I had to pay for my first car on my own. Most people do. You should have merely thanked them for the car, sold it at a minor loss if it could not be returned, and bought an automatic (It is yours to do with as you please). If they asked, you merely comment with tact that you said you do not know how to drive a manual and told them as much, but were ignored,...
