ive been looking for a website that has an assortment of metal jewelry. [stainless steel, iron, etc.]

pretty much the low end affordable kind.

ive been looking for a nice necklace with a large pendant.

any suggestions? im a male.

Better to check out the hardware store, chain doesn't cost much, and it is harder to find iron in jewelry. You should be able to find something that would work for under 10. And all it will require will be a pair of pliers.

I have real gold, whether it's 18K rings, 24k earrings, necklace charms. they all leave an obvious black mark if I scratch my skin with them. Is there any truth that it's because of a lack of iron? othe alloys in the metal? anyone have a reference on it?

MHM is right. I will add though, that cosmetics and the pH level of perspiration aren't the only culprits. Moisturizing soaps and body moisterizers can cause the same reaction. I briefly used a moisturizer that caused green/black marking with every piece of jewelry it came in contact with. Needless to say, I got rid of that moisturizer straight away.

As for alloys as the culprit:
White gold is known to cause more reaction due to the use of nickel to yield the white color. White gold which uses Palladium, as opposed to nickel causes fewer reactions. And, the copper used in yellow gold can cause discoloration.

So, if you're wearing 18k & 24k then it's probably not the alloys, but the moisturizer or maybe even the perfume you might be wearing. It is recommended that jewelry should be the last thing you put on, after your moisturizer, clothing, and perfume. This will limit possible chemical interaction with your beauty products.
